Hi there and welcome to Gone Mountain Biking, the best MTB B&B near Dalby Forest and the North York Moors. We're a bike mad family business specialising in mountain biking holidays based at Eleven Westgate our four star B&B in Pickering, North Yorkshire.

On our doorstep we have Dalby Forest, home of the 2010/11 UCI cross country world cup route and one of the finest trail networks in the UK with 25 miles of red route plus blue and green family routes. If that's not enough, we have the North York Moors National Park which is probably one of the most untapped areas for mountain biking in the UK with miles of singletrack through the heather, techy descents, killer climbs and stunning scenery!

So if you're looking for a  mountain bike holiday with that personal touch we can offer stays from one person to small groups, midweek or at weekends (we just cant get enough!) - just give us a call.

If you are happy just following the waymarked routes or struggling with maps blowing in the wind we can offer a great place to stay for you to do your own thing. Alternatively we can offer a package through our partnership with Dalby Bike Barn offering best in class CTC skills instruction and guided rides both in Dalby Forest and out on the stunning North York Moors.

Whether you're on your own looking for some one to one MTB skills tuition or in a group looking for epic guided rides, our holidays are all about the personal touch. 

Based at Eleven Westgate our "home from home" four star silver B&B with full biker facilities, we specialise in offering mountain bike holidays and short stays specifically for you or your group, whatever your level.

We don't cancel on you if there aren't enough bookings to make it viable and we dont throw you into a group with people of totally different abilities. The riding you book is the riding you want: fast, slow, easy, hard, beginner, advanced, relaxed or gnarly (dudes!).

We offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation in our very own home at Eleven Westgate. It's an elegant Victorian building retaining many of its original features, which have been carefully restored to provide light airy rooms whilst retaining a cosy homely feel. The deceptively large house has quality furnished rooms, all en-suite, offering every home comfort.

We've got a large lounge with comfy settees, loads of mags to read, Sky+, wireless internet and games consoles. We'll probably have to prise you out of there when you get too relaxed.

In winter there's a roaring log burner and in summer we have a large garden to relax in.

We've got all the facilities that bikers need including secure bike lock-up, workstands, bike wash stand with cleaners and brushes, drying room and of course, home made cake!

It's the start of the new season!

We've had a number of hardy souls who ride all year round but now is when things start to get busy. Many weekend are already booked up so if you're thinking of booking a weekend than talk to us fast! We still have plenty of midweek availability though so you can enjoy quiet trails and better rates...

The cafe and hire centre tender process in Dalby Forest is now sorted so we're looking forward to being in good company with the Courtyard Cafe and Dalby Bike Barn - a partnership between Pace Cycles and the CTC which ushers in a new era and a new approach to facilities in Dalby Forest.


At Gone Mountain Biking we have had a relationship with Pace since we started and we're proud to ride and recommend Pace bikes.

Oh and take a look at their weather station here. It's in Dalby and it's mint!

 

Over the years we've realised a few things in life from what we do and from the great people we meet...

  • You don't need a plan. Make it up as you go along - it's way more fun.
  • Being out in the cold and the rain is still better than being in an office.
  • We still don't know what we want to be when we grow up.
  • Making mistakes is part of life.
  • Riding a bike and feeling the wind in your face is an amazing feeling.
  • Experience life through the eyes of a child. It's a thrill a minute!
